Ninette Junkin

NATCHEZ — A Mass for Ninette Salvo Junkin, 85, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at her daughter’s residence in LaPlace, La., will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will be at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mrs. Junkin was born Sept. 2, 1924, in Natchez, the daughter of Emile William Salvo and Georgia Ninette Doughty.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George M. Junkin; one brother, Ronald James Salvo; and one sister, Rita Mae Salvo.
Survivors include one daughter, Constance Junkin Theard; five sons, George Malcolm Jr., William Emile, Eric Shaun, Owen Seton and Lucien Quentin Junkin; one sister, Lurie Salvo Ramagos; one brother, Dr. Emile W. Salvo Jr.; 15 grandchildren, Meghan, Austin, Kori and Blaise Theard, Michelle Junkin Whiteside, Courtney, Rebecca, Andrew, Norene, Mary Evalina, Samantha, Timothy, Hannah, Casey and Billy Junkin; and one great-grandchild, Tyler Theard.
Pallbearers will be sons and son-in-law, Kenneth Arthur Theard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the George Junkin Scholarship Fund c/o Cathedral Schools, 701 Martin Luther King St., Natchez, MS 39120.
