WOODVILLE — Services for Gordon Davis Vines, 93, of Woodville, who died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Newman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Vine, the Rev. Jeff Netterville and Marcus Vine officiating.
Burial will follow at Vines Family Cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral Home in Centreville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, both at the funeral home.
Mr. Vines was born in Wilkinson County, the son of David and Nellie Wesberry Vines. He was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company in Natchez as an operator.
He was a member of United Rubber Workers Union, National Rifle Association, Avid Hunter and Fisherman and a member of Doloroso Hunting Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clara Helen “Dill” Vines; five brothers; four sisters; one grandson, Danny Vine; and one great-grandchild, Cole Vine.
Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Netterville and husband, Louis, and Pinto Vine and husband, Larry, all of New Johnsonville, Tenn., and Gail Dent and husband, Jonathon of Gilbert, S.C.; one son, Darryl Vines and wife, Denise, of Woodville; one sister, Carmel DeVille of Jackson, La.; four brothers, Joe Vines and Monette Vines, both of Woodville, Leroy Vines of Centreville and George Vines of Natchez; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Vines, Ventress Vines, Marcus Vine, Carey Vine, Butch Netterville and Andrew Netterville.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Netterville, Ron Netterville, Nathan Dent, Josh Dent, Joel Dent and Tyler Vine.
