Who named your North Shields Lane?

As someone born and brought up in North Shields in England (in the north-east at the mouth of the River Tyne), working on a history of the town, I was intrigued when an Internet search led me to a reference to North Shields Lane in The Natchez Democrat.
I was further intrigued when, after doing a search on your site, I came across a reference to South Shields (which in England lies immediately across the river from North Shields).
Do you or any of your readers know who named North Shields Lane and South Shields in Natchez — and when?
It seems likely that they or someone in their family came originally from the north-east of England.
If you have any information on the origin of the street names, please contact me at danny.lawrence10@ntlworld.com.
