NATCHEZ — A Monday night malicious mischief report has led to a drive-by shooting arrest.
Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said the incident was initially reported as malicious mischief when broken windows were discovered in a car found on Park Place, but no one in the area reported hearing gunfire.
Two days later, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office received information from an anonymous source that two shots had been fired into the unoccupied car, Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said.
Investigators arrested Brann Trosclair, 19, 503 Park Place, on charges of drive-by shooting and recovered his gun, a 12-gauge Benelli shotgun, in a Vidalia ditch.
Mayfield said Trosclair reportedly had an argument with the victim at a party earlier.
Trosclair was a passenger in the vehicle. No driver has been arrested, but Mayfield said investigators have a suspect.
