FERRIDAY — Services for Carine Nichols White, 91, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, March 25, 2010, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Larto Baptist Church with the Rev. Mack Walker and the Rev. Lloyd Trisler officiating.

Burial will follow at Heard Cemetery in Manifest, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

Mrs. White was born July 1, 1918, the daughter of William Sanders and Catherine Wiley Sanders. She was a homemaker and the last living charter member of Larto Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Leslie L. Nichols and Clerel White; her parents; three brothers, Andrew, Dalton and J.W. Sanders; one sister, Elsie Fairbanks; two grandsons, Steve Dodd and Dewayne Paulk; one granddaughter, Debra Dodd; one great-granddaughter, Krissi Butler; one great-grandson, Matthew Dodd; and two stepdaughters, Faye McGuffee and Dean Paul.

Survivors include two daughters, Catherine Dodd and husband, Robert, of Ferriday and Barbara Paulk and husband, Eugene, of Jonesville; one grandson, Charlie Dodd and wife, Dawn, of Ferriday; two great-great-grandsons, Chase and Kade Butler; one great-great-granddaughter, Caroline Smith; two stepsons, Clerel White Jr. and wife, Marie, and Charlie White and wife, Margaret, all of Clayton; a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and special sitter, “Pug” Guice.

Pallbearers will be Dane Paul, Randy White, Jay White, Harold Book Jr., Charlie Dodd, Milton Sanders, Colin Butler and David Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Rev. Mac Walker and the Rev. Lloyd Trisler.
