UTICA — Graveside services for O. E. “Gene” Womack Sr., 88, of Utica, who died Sunday, April 4, 2010, at V.A. Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cayuga Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Polk officiating.

Services are under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Mr. Womack was born in Hinds County and lived most of his life in Adams County before moving back to Hinds County. He was formerly employed as the owner/manager of the Natchez Equipment Company for 59 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He was also a member of Jefferson St. Methodist Church, where he was on the Board of Stewards.

Survivors include his wife, Louise S. Womack of Utica; two sons, O. E. “Sonny” Womack Jr. of Utica and Kenneth Howard Womack of Rochester, NY; three sisters, Inez Downing of Raymond, Lucy Lee Ford of Jackson and Laura Jenkins of Terry; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Alex Womack, Bill Womack, Robert Womack, Douglas Womack, Paul Womack and Mike Womack.
