NATCHEZ — Services for Louise McCalip, 83, of Natchez, who died Monday, April 12, 2010, in Natchez, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Dan Wynn officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday, both at the funeral home.

Mrs. McCalip was born Feb. 25, 1927, in Orange, Texas, the daughter of Lonnie E. and Mamie Louise Browning Geer. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, a choir member and was a past president of WMU. She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willard McCalip; one brother, Don Geer; and one son, Douglas McCalip.

Survivors include five children, Susan McCalip Fitts and husband, Charles, of Montgomery, Texas, Linda McCalip Barnett and husband, Wayne, Michael McCalip and John McCalip, all of Natchez, and Dr. Ben McCalip and wife, Jennie, of Dayton, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Frances Sawyer of Dallas.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Acre Day School.
