NATCHEZ — Services for Eddie Lee Green, 59, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin White officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 tot 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Mr. Green was born Nov. 13, 1950, in Adams County, the sixth child of the Rev. and Mrs. Willie Green. He attended Sadie V. Thompson High School and Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed by several businesses in the Natchez area including the Salvation Army, Hardees and Adams County.
Mr. Green was a member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carolyn Lambert; and one brother, Willie A. Green.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Penella Green; one daughter, Aretha Rupert and husband, Harvey, of Minneapolis, Minn.; two granddaughters, Kennedy Rupert and Sydney Rupert, both of Minneapolis; five sisters, Flora Terrell and husband, William, Ruby L. Lucas, Juanita Jones and husband, Albert, and Allena Johnson, all of Natchez, and Alma Stokes and husband, Clifton, of Jackson; two brothers, Raymond Green and wife, Peggie, of Natchez and Richard W. Green and wife, Lynn, of Vidalia; one brother-in-law, Freddrick Murray Sr. of Natchez; one great-aunt, Pearlina Green of Natchez; two uncles, Bennie York and wife, Velma, of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Dave York of Natchez; mother-in-law, Clyde Winston of Natchez; special friend, George F. West Jr.; a number of other special friends; and a number of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other love ones and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ernest Cade, Albert Jones, Freddrick Murray Sr., Dr. Freddrick Murray Jr., Trazell Spencer and William Terrell Sr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Green, Richard Green, William Terrell Jr., Deacon Samuel White , Attorney Roddrick Murray, Attorney Harvey Rupert and Leonard Woods.
