MEADVILLE — Services for Allie Irene Havard Shell, 95, of Roxie, who died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. today at Springhill Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.
Mrs. Shell was born Feb. 17, 1915, in Franklin County, the daughter of Cade Nathaniel Havard and Allie Irene Ford Havard. She was a homemaker and a member of Springhill Baptist Church.
Mama Allie was an avid deer and turkey hunter and loved the outdoors. She loved taking care of and spending time with her family. Some of her hobbies included gardening, sewing, watching the Atlanta Braves, riding her golf cart and spending time with her cat, Socks. She enjoyed singing in the church choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Shell Sr.; her parents; two brothers; three sisters; and one son-in-law, David Griffin.
Survivors include two sons, Roy Shell Jr. and wife, Loretta, of Knoxville and Wilber Shell and wife, Nancy, of Brookhaven; two daughters, Linda Carraway and husband, Mike, and Elizabeth Griffin, all of Knoxville; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Appreciation is given to three special people for their loving care, Barbara Alexander, Tonya Halford and Priscilla Jackson.
