NATCHEZ — Services for Oscar “Jessie” “Big Papa” Mitchell, 61, of Natchez, who died Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Samuel Malone officiating.

Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Mitchell was born Feb. 23, 1949, in Mobile, Ala., the son of Robert Mitchell Sr. and Bertha Mitchell. He enjoyed fishing.

Mr. Mitchell was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Larry Mitchell.

Survivors include a devoted fiancée, Rose Mary Reason; one brother, Johnny Chapman of Chicago; three aunts, Gailnell Grace and husband, Robert, and Loubertha Ruffin, all of Meridian, and Polly Chapman of Chicago; two uncles, Daniel Chapman of Chicago and Frank Chapman of Meridian; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Clarence Reason Jr., James Reason, Benny Lee Henderson, Melvin Cooks, Ronald Chatman and Brian Wilson.
