GULFPORT — Services for Augusta L. Garmon, 69, of Gulfport, formerly of Natchez, who died Monday, April 26, 2010, will be at 12:30 p.m. today at Lockett-Williams Mortuary, Inc.

Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Gardens under the direction of Lockett-Williams Mortuary, Inc., in Gulfport.

Mrs. Garmon was a graduate of Alcorn State University and taught for a number of years in the Gulfport School District.

She was Baha’i and was very strong in her belief.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Joe Ellis and Mattie Stewart Ellis; and three brothers, Edward, Bennell and George.

Survivors include two sons, Claude and wife, Heather, and David; three brothers, Alonzo “Joe Boy” Ellis, the Rev. Willie Ellis and wife, Estelle, and Avery “Aaron” Ellis, all of Natchez; five sisters, Iris “Louise” Hill of Jackson, Geraldine Craig, Lessie Brown and husband, Al, Barbara Sims and Linda Ellis, all of Natchez; one grandson, Joshua Lee Garmon and one to come, little Benjamin Augustus Garmon.
