NATCHEZ — Services for Gail M. Massey, 85, of Natchez, who died Friday, April 30, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Noelle Read officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. to service time Monday at the church.

Mrs. Massey was born Jan. 27, 1925, in Monroe, La., the daughter of Harvey Allen McDonald and Eunice Smith McDonald. She was a graduate of Louisiana State University and attended one summer program at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. She taught one year at Ouachita Parish High School in Monroe.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Natchez Historical Society, a charter member of the World War II Museum in New Orleans and a lifetime member of Natchez Little Theatre and the Natchez Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E.D. “Pat” Massey and her parents.

Survivors include four children, Judy Massey Pearce and husband Jim of Pensacola, Fla., Larry Massey and wife Teresa of Gulfport, John E. Massey and wife Carla of Mobile, Ala., and Buddy Massey and wife Holly of Memphis, Tenn; one grandson, Justin Massey and wife Elizabeth of Gulfport; one great-granddaughter, Anna Gray Massey of Gulfport and one sister, Martha Henry of Monroe, La.

Pallbearers will be Justin Massey, Chuck Mayfield, Jim Pearce, Tommy Ferrell, Moe LeBlanc and Robert Paradise.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Natchez Humane Society.
