FERRIDAY — Services for David Skinner Jr., 97, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Concordia Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Chandler officiating.

Burial will follow at Mount Zion Church Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Skinner was born Aug. 10, 1912, in Waterproof, the son of David Skinner Sr. and Winnie Webb. He was a retired auto mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie Skinner of Avondale, La.; one son, David Pinio of New Orleans; two daughters, Winnie Smith and husband, Leon, of Ferriday and Arnvie Dell Beard of Houston, Texas; one brother, Theodore Skinner of Winnsboro, La.; one sister, Ann Dillard of Los Angeles; his caregivers, Doris Gilmore and family of Ferriday; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
