VIDALIA — Services for Roy James “Rocky” Bowman, 59, of Vidalia, who died Friday, April 30, 2010, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Riley officiating.

Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Bowman was born July 8, 1950, in Vidalia, the son of John and Illinois Trask Bowman. He was employed by the City of Vidalia as a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bennie, John, Willie and Parnell; and one sister, Lula Bowman Demby.

Survivors include four brothers, Lynn Bowman and wife, Alma, and Donald Bowman, all of Vidalia, Eddie L. Bowman and wife, Willie Dell, of Alexandria, Va., and Roosevelt Bowman and wife, Shirley, of Hughes Springs, Texas; two sisters, Hattie March and husband, Charles, of Bellwood, Ill., and Sarah Hamilton of Los Angeles; one aunt, Frances Polk Jefferson of St. Louis, Mo.; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
