NATCHEZ — Services for Mattie Lee McKnight, 68, of Natchez, who died Friday, April 30, 2010, at Natchez Community Hospital, were 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2010, at New Hope Baptist Church.

Burial followed at Pine Hill Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.

Mrs. McKnight was born Oct. 11, 1941, in Summit, the daughter of Leon Johnson Sr. and Exlenie Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, Jessie J. McKnight; one daughter, Angel R. Dunbar; one sister, Ida Lee Johnson; two brothers, Leon Johnson Jr. and Phillip Lee Johnson; and two grandsons, Harold Dunbar and Hubbard Lee Johnson.

Survivors include four loving daughters, Donna M. Johnson, Velma J. Johnson, Wanda Wiley and husband, Raymond, all of Natchez, and Exlenie Johnson and husband, Cavin, of Texas; one son, Jessie J. McKnight Jr. of Natchez; three sisters, Rosemary Freeman and husband, Joe, of Senatobia, Gwendolyn Watson and husband, Marvin, and Eula Scott and long time companion, Ricky, all of Natchez; three brothers, Edward Johnson and long time companion, Rena, Roosevelt Johnson and wife, Ann, and Eugene Bruce Jr. and wife, Tina, all of Natchez; two stepdaughters, Benita Watson and Linda J. McKnight, both of Washington, D.C.; 23 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
