MAGNOLIA — Services for Charles Earl “Chuck” Simmons, 66, of East Palo Alto, Calif., formerly of Magnolia, who died Thursday, May 7, 2010, at Kaiser Hospital in Redwood City, Calif., will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sherman Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Alphonse Patterson officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home in McComb.
Mr. Simmons was born Feb. 24, 1944, in Magnolia, the son of Johnnie Simmons and Johnnie B. Simmons. He was a member of Sherman Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, John Henry Simmons and Hilary James Simmons.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Elaine Simmons; his mother and stepfather, Harry Addison, of Magnolia; one brother, the Rev. A.D. Simmons of Baton Rouge; four sisters, Artis Simmons Butler and husband, Charles, of Natchez, Ida Simmons Patterson and husband, Fred, of Los Banos, Calif., Gloria Simmons Thomas and husband, Joseph, of San Francisco and Diane S. Clines Sanders and husband, Fred, of Desoto, Texas; one sister-in-law, Lula Simmons of California; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
