NATCHEZ — Parkway Baptist Church will host a senior adult rally for the southeast portion of the state Monday and Tuesday.
The “Living with a Purpose” event begins at 1 p.m. Monday with an ice cream social. It is open to any senior adults; admission is $5 per day and includes books that go along with the sessions.
The Rev. Wayne Spencer, Parkway’s senior adult pastor, said up to 250 people are expected to attend the event.
Church groups from Baton Rouge, McComb and Brookhaven have already signed up. The event is sponsored through the Mississippi Baptist Convention and will include speakers from around the region.
After the social, the Bishop Family Band of McComb will perform. Then seniors will break into small groups for study until 5:30 p.m.
Sessions begin again Tuesday morning at 8 and conclude with a 10:45 a.m. celebration of worship led by the Rev. Bobby Shows of Jefferson City, Mo., and the Monticello Baptist Church Choir.
