VIDALIA — Services for Amelia Smith, 85, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Starlight Baptist Church with the Rev. Leroy Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith was born March 7, 1925, in Vidalia, the daughter of Tom and Evelina Stokes Clay. She was employed by Natchez-Adams School District as a cafeteria manager.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Smith; one brother, Ernest Clay Sr.; and one sister, Florida Williams
Survivors include two sons, Brian Smith of Las Vegas and Carlo Smith of Vidalia; two daughters, Delores Whitley and Barbara Powers and husband, Avel, all of Vidalia; two sisters-in-law, Audrey Franklin of Vidalia and Martha M. Smith of Ferriday; six grandchildren including special granddaughter and caregiver, Erica Smith, Jarvis Whitley, Michael Whitley, Louis Whitley, Sirrena Smith and Francis Smith, all of Vidalia; special niece, Martha M. Combs of Natchez; and other nieces, nephews and cousins.
