Join us on Saturday for the Art & Soul Festival in Memorial Park in Downtown Natchez.

From 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., you will experience great local music, art and craft exhibits, fun activities for the children, and enjoy snow cones, popcorn and other tasty festival food. There is no admission charge for this family fun day.

Entertaining on our stage, in beautiful Memorial Park, will be some of our most talented local musicians and dancers: Burnley Cook (on the Calliope), the praise band from Jefferson Street United Methodist Church, the Natchez Ballet Academy, the Natchez Festival of Music Jazz Combo and Martie Hoover.

Children will enjoy the rock climbing wall, bouncing houses and children’s art demonstrations, including a kite-making workshop.

This is a wonderful opportunity to see and purchase work by some of our best local artists and crafts people. There will be pottery; painting, including watercolors, acrylics and oils; prints; mosaics; photography; jewelry; note cards; faux-finished boxes, garden containers, mirrors, etc.; handmade clothing and accessories, including children’s dresses and purses; fabric art and more.

The Art & Soul Festival is sponsored by Natchez Downtown, a Mississippi Main Street Association.

The purpose of the association is to improve and develop a healthy and prosperous downtown and the community as a whole through preservation, restoration, encouragement and promotion. For information, you may call 601-442-2929 or visit www.downtown-natchez.org.

See you on Saturday!
