JONESBORO, La. — Services for John Thomas Mott Jr., 41, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, May 16, 2010, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fishnet Worship Center with the Rev. Russell Rhodes officiating.

Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, near Chatham, La., under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday, both at the church.

Deputy Mott had been in law enforcement for 12 years, serving the past three years as a deputy with the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Mott enjoyed spending time with his daughters, hunting, fishing, riding his Harley and weight lifting.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Mott and nephew, Steven Mott.

Survivors include two daughters, Ashley Mott and Hailey Mott, both of Lake St. John; his mother, Doris Wilhite Mott of Chatham; one brother, Gerald Mott and wife, Barbara, of Chatham; one niece, Stacy Mott of West Monroe, La.; and the mother of his daughters, Tina Mott.

Pallbearers will be Steve Williams, Trey Fluitt, Robert Charles Pain Jr., Jarrod Lenard, Jack Fletcher and Chris Groh.
