Correction/Clarification: The article below originally incorrectly stated information about Nathan Fox Leigh. He was not previously under investigation by Metro Narcotics agents. As a point of clarification, Leigh does not live at 719 North Pearl St. We regret the errors and are happy to set the record straight.
NATCHEZ — Metro Narcotics agents hoping to make a drug arrest Monday allegedly caught their suspects in the act.
Robert Murray Mahoney III and Nathan Fox Leigh were allegedly smoking marijuana with a 17-year-old when agents knocked on the 719 North Pearl St., door.
“There was a strong odor of burning marijuana,” Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said.
Agents seized approximately two ounces of marijuana.
Mayfield said another law enforcement agency shared information that led agents to investigate Mahoney.
Mahoney, 22, 719 North Pearl St., was charged with possession of marijuana with intent and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Leigh, 20, 105 Ashwood Drive, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
“They have to be lucky every day they commit a crime,” Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield added. “And we only have to be lucky one day to get them behind bars.”
