Abraham Woods

NATCHEZ — Services for Abraham L. Woods, 67, of Chicago, formerly of Natchez, who died Monday, May 17, 2010, in Chicago, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Forest Aide Baptist Church with the Rev. James Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of W.W. Jackson Funeral Home in Chicago.
Mr. Woods was born Aug. 3, 1942, in Natchez, the son of Joseph and Juanita Woods. He was a 1962 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School.
Mr. Woods was retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Randy Woods; two sisters, Camille W. Jackson and Gloria J. Woods; and three brothers, Robert, Joseph Jr., and Melvin Woods.
Survivors include his wife, Harvesta M. Woods; one daughter, Shirlean Davis and husband, Melvin, of Natchez; one son, Anthony Woods of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Henry “Doc” Woods of Natchez and Charles Woods and wife, Eva, of Sugarland, Texas; one sister, Audrey Winful of Albany, Ga.; six grandchildren, LaRandus, Melvin, Shawnese, Quintarrus, Randy Jr., and Kimberly; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be relatives and friends.
