NATCHEZ — Services for Jo Marie Humes, 69, of Natchez, who died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Bright Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Tracy Cusic officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Humes was born Sept. 10, 1940, in Natchez, the daughter of Thomas and Annie Banks Hollins. She was a 1960 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School.

Mrs. Humes retired in 2002 after 35 years of service with Natchez-Adams School District.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Humes; her parents; and three sisters, Ruth Hollins, JoAnn H. Wilson and Viola H. Schneider.

Survivors include two sisters, V. Mary H. Washington and Lucille H. Posey; a special friend, Henry B. Smoot; and a number of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Washington, Major Washington, Michael Washington, Charles Posey Jr., Maurice Keener and Paul Hollins.
