INGLESIDE, Texas — Services for Alton Rhodes Perry Jr., M.D., 74, of Natchez, who died Friday May 28, 2010, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas.

Visitation will be today at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Perry was born April 1, 1936, in Natchez, the son of Alton Rhodes Perry Sr. and Helen Faye Heider.

He was an active Boy Scout and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Mr. Perry graduated from Natchez High School prior to attending Louisiana State University and Mississippi College. He received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine after which he served an internship at Confederate Memorial Medical Center in Shreveport, La. He then completed his residency in Anesthesiology at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas. He practiced anesthesiology in Gulfport for many years and later moved to Ingleside, Texas, and practiced at Coastal Bend Hospital in Aransas Pass, Texas. He has been practicing family medicine for the past 14 years in several south Texas communities while residing with his family in Ingleside.

Mr. Perry dedicated his life to being a wonderful father, grandfather and compassionate doctor and friend. He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Mr. Perry was preceded in death by both of his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Holly Ann Perry; children Griffin “Tad” Mackenzie Perry, Caroline Ashley Perry, Alton Rhodes Perry III, Ingrid Perry Taylor and Leslie Perry Bain; grandchildren Sydney Zeman, Rhodes James Perry, Austin Bain, Hillary Taylor James, Timbo Taylor, Perry Taylor; great grandchild Pruett James; sisters Helen Langlow and Marie Leidner.
