Join us for fun day to benefit Haiti

Trying to exhale in light of all the world’s turmoil is very difficult and occasionally overwhelming.

Women of Divine Determination are continually striving to utilize innovating ideas to entertain you and, by the same token, empower the downtrodden, uplift those that are less fortunate than we are and render good deeds to all of God’s humanity.

Therefore, with much excitement, we invited one and all to your hand-clapping, foot-stomping, animal-chasing and Holy Ghost-filled “Buy a tent for Haiti fun day.”

Gruesome situations still plague the poor people of Haiti. For example, babies and young people are being run away from tents and forced to live on the streets. Women and children are being sexually abused, sometimes they volunteer in exchange for a meal, sometimes they don’t.

I am informed the screaming never stops in some parts of the country as excruciating pain racks these people’s bodies.

God tells us in Matthew 25:35-37, “For I was naked and you clothed me, hungry and you fed me, a stranger and you took me in.”

This Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church, 762 Liberty Road, will you take God in by helping us purchase a tent for Haiti?

The verse continues, “When you have done it to the least of these, you have done it to me.”

Now to the good part, envision the nostalgia of a day in the country. The trees dance gently in the cool breeze; the tranquility of birds singing is all around.

Come on out and jump on our country pumpkin hay ride, or take a ride on our little pony trail.

Not only will the birds be singing, you will also enjoy the angelic voices of our song birds — Sister Kathleen Washington Dunbar and Brother Willie Minor.

The Natchez Fire Department has willing agreed to bring their water sprinkler.

Perhaps you are having your own Haiti in your life. Yet, when you enter our adorable petting zoo, the children enjoying the space jump and many other activities your mind will journey to a place of beauty.

To the young at heart, Bro. Robert James will be ready with his monthly senior citizen day. The cool, air conditioned rooms, movies, games, food and prizes will be fantastic.

Don’t be concerned about the weather. We have a medical team on board as well to screen for blood pressure and discuss health tips.

Last, what is a good, old-fashioned day in the country like without the smell of food. We’ll have popcorn, hot dogs, burgers, candy apples and barbecue chicken.

I’ll see you at the “Buy a Tent for Haiti fun day.”
