Charles Howington

VIDALIA — Services for Charles A. “Hank” Howington, 84, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, June 5, 2010, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church in Vidalia, with the Rev. Ron Ledford and the Rev. Paul Southerland officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. Howington was born May 10, 1926, the youngest of seven children born to Charles Edward and Pairlee Myers Howington.
He was a retired lab technician at International Paper Company in Natchez.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Mr. Howington had been a resident of Vidalia for the past 35 years.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Lorene Howington and Sarah Howington; two brothers, Willie Howington and Fred Howington and two sisters, Trudy Nelson and Ora Fife.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Knapp Howington; two sons, Gerry Howington and wife Mary of Pineville, La., and Rickey Howington and wife Anita of Pine Bluff, Ark.; two daughters, Shirley Carter and husband William of McGehee, Ark., and Sherry Hogue of Vidalia; one brother, Tom Howington of Ferriday; one sister, Tressie Siddon of Baskin, La.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Albert Lee French, Gene Steen, Eldon Stigall, Joe Swoveland, Charlie Howington and Adam Howington.
