James Buckles

COLUMBIA — Services for James “Pee Wee” Buckles, 75, of Sandy Hook, who died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at the Marion General Hospital in Columbia, will he at 10 a.m. today at Hathorn Funeral Home with the Rev. John DeLaFuente officiating.
Burial will follow at Lott Cemetery under the direction of Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia.
In addition, a memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Springfield Baptist Church in Natchez.
Mr. Buckles was born March 3, 1935, in Natchez, the son of Otis and Lucy Hutchens Buckles. He was employed as an oil driller. He was a Baptist and a member of St. Albans Masonic Lodge No. 60.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Buckles; and one sister, Bertie Barrios.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Buckles of Natchez; two sons, James Glen Buckles and Roger Dale Buckles, both of Foxworth; three daughters, Mary McKenzie and husband, Lee, of Sandy Hook, Lucy Miller and husband, Chuck, of Natchez and Melanie Heurtin and husband, Kevin, of Foxworth; two brothers, William Buckles of Natchez and Lonnie Buckles and wife, Patsy, of Tuscon, Ariz.; four sisters, Alice Buckles and Lilly Thomas, both of Bude, Clara Ann Holland and husband, Horace, and Judy Carter and husband, Charles R., all of Natchez; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
