FERRIDAY — Services for Jettie Jane Johnson James, 82, of Waterproof, La., who died Saturday, June 19, 2010, in Natchez, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Owens officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. until time of service Monday at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. James was born March 19, 1928, in Doyline, La., the daughter of Herbert H. and Eugenia G. Johnson. She was a member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church in St. Joseph, La.

Mrs. James had been a resident of Waterproof for 62 years and a homemaker. She was an active member of the Ferriday Garden Club and the Bruin Vidal Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of the Tri Sigma Sorority at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La. She was an avid bridge player and gardener.

Mrs. James was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William H. Johnson; sister, Jeannette J. Chumbley; and grandson, Cody James.

Survivors include her husband, George B. James Sr., of Waterproof; two sons, George Bolton James Jr., of Waterproof and Herbert Orrin James and wife, Laura, of Ferriday; brother, Herbert Johnson of Doyline, La.; sister, Margaret Lynn and husband, Bruce, of Belcher, La.; two grandchildren, Ashley James Wiggins and husband, Evan, and Jettie James Rabb and husband, Bryan; six great grandchildren, Blair and Lindsey Claire Lee, Reagan and Colton Rabb, and Lara and Cassie Wiggins.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Rhodes, Charlie Watters, Claude Rabb, Roy James, Bryan Rabb, Evan Wiggins, John Day Huff and Jay James.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joe T. James, Jimmy Huff Sr., Jim Huff, Max Huff and Charlie Tucker.
