NATCHEZ — Services for William Loyd Patton Jr., 79, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, July 4, 2010, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David E. Sartin officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Patton was born Jan. 25, 1931, in Inverness, the son of William Loyd Patton, and Girsel Alley Boyd Patton. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vidalia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Betty Patton.

Survivors include his children, William Loyd Patton III of Spokane, Wash., Lisa Patton Sartin of Harrisville, Laurence Patton of Brewton, Ala., Lynn Patton of Walker, La., and Lamar Patton of Hollister, Mo.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters, Janell Fratesi of Yazoo City, and Shirley Murphree of Byram.

Pallbearers will be William Loyd Patton III, Laurence Patton, Lynn Patton, Lamar Patton, Doug Gilliam and Madison Patton.
