Sixteen now qualifed for fall parish elections

VIDALIA — Qualifying for the Concordia Parish fall elections continued Thursday, with 16 candidates now qualified.
Those who qualified as of close of the clerk’s office Thursday included:
For Vidalia city judge: George C. Murray.
For Vidalia city marshal: “Jim” Boren.
For School Board District 1, Place A: Fred T. Butcher.
For School Board District 1, Place B: Mary H. Campbell.
For School Board District 3, Place A: Gary Parnham.
For School Board District 3, Place B: James H. Cockerham.
For School Board District 4, Place A: Ronnie Bradford and Charles E. Minor.
For School Board District 4, Place B: Daryle Price.
For School Board District 5, Place A: Martha J. Rabb.
For School Board District 5, Place B: Darlene Baker.
For Ridgecrest mayor: Brandon Davis and Kevin Graham.
For Ridgecrest chief of police: John Smith.
For Ridgecrest aldermen: Robert Maples and Courtney Thompson.
No candidates have qualified to run for school board district 2 or Ferriday district C alderman.
While two have qualified for Ridgecrest alderman, five total aldermen will be elected.

Positions up for election include all members of the school board, Vidalia city judge and city marshal, and Ferriday Alderman District C.
In Ridgecrest, all of the aldermen’s seats are up for election, as well as mayor and chief of police.
Qualifying will end today.
Those who wish to qualify must do so at the Concordia Parish clerk of court’s office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
