NATCHEZ — Services for Ruth Washington, 86, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Crown Health and Rehab Center, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Justin Conner officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Washington was born March 1, 1924, in Natchez, the daughter of Lucinda Hoskins. She was retired from Diamond International Company. She was a Baptist and a member of Sunflower Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Washington Sr., and two sons, Johnnie Washington Jr. and Eddie Lee Washington.

Survivors include six children, Melvia W. Mason, Sophronia Bias and husband, Ralph, all of Joliet, Ill., Doris Wyre and husband, Bertran, of Baton Rouge, Donald Washington and wife, Patricia, of Dallas, Barbara W. Stewart and husband, Leon, of Natchez and Danielle Washington of Denver, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
