AASHTO was great look at Natchez

This note is long overdue, but I wanted to send you a note to let you know what an awesome job your town and the Mississippi Department of Transportation did in hosting the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials spring meeting in May.
Southern hospitality was in full display from the time I arrived until my departure, from the incredible plantation tour at Dunleith Plantation to the amazing evening cemetery tour to the pleasant conversations I had with so many of the town’s shopkeepers — just terrific.
And of course a true highlight was the hot-air balloon evening glow and ride the next morning.
To Mr. Butch Brown, I had such a great time and was so impressed with your beautiful town that I decided on the spot to rearrange our July travel plans so that I could bring my husband and daughter to Natchez for a visit.
We have just returned from that trip where we stayed two nights at Dunleith Plantation before we head to New Orleans for a wedding.
I couldn’t wait to show my family this jewel of a town that you brought to life for me.
I know how much work goes into putting together such an event and wanted you to know how much I appreciate your efforts in making this a memorable trip for me.
