NATCHEZ — Services for Melvin Davis, 56, of Natchez, who died Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at noon Saturday at Grove AME Church with the Rev. Frank Sullivan officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mr. Davis was born Jan. 16, 1954, in Natchez, the son of Jesse Davis and Rosie Lee Davis.

He was a member of Mt. Bethany Baptist Church.

He loved meeting people and he never met a stranger. He also loved listening to music, dancing and he worked with the public.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William Conner and Robert Lee Davis; one uncle, Fleming Conner; and one step daughter, Mayoda Ticee Davis.

Survivors include special friend, Annie Dennis; two brothers, Jesse Davis and Jesse Eddie Davis; two sisters, Elizabeth Davis and Camille Davis; two sons, Nicholas Jenkins and Darrick Banks; one daughter, Demetris Banks; two uncles, Charles Conner and Frank Conner; two aunts, Ruth Wesley and Emma Session; five grandchildren, three step children and 13 step grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Abraham Conner, Don Hunter, Eric Dennis Sr. and Kenny Harding Sr.
