BAR HARBOR, Maine (AP) — President Obama wasn’t in Southwest Mississippi Saturday, but Natchez ended up at the right place at the right time as Obama and his family toured Acadia National Park.

According to the Kennebec Journal in Augusta, Maine, Michael Fournier, 27, and Matthew Duggan, 22, as well as Fournier’s dog, Natchez crossed paths with the First Family as they toured Mt. Desert Island.

Natchez and the presidential dog Bo amicably “aquainted themselves” as Duggan and Fournier talked with the Obamas.

Fournier, a teacher, discussed at length the profession with Michelle Obama.

“Talking to Michelle Obama was like talking to a neighbor,” Fournier told the Kennebec Journal.
