LIBERTY — Services for Daniel Glen Hughey, 27, of Liberty, who died Friday, July 16, 2010, in Amite County, will be at 1 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty. Services will be conducted by special family friend Faye Morgan.

Burial will follow in Nunnery Cemetery near Liberty under the direction of Brown Funeral Home in Gloster.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at Brown Funeral Home.

Daniel was born March 7, 1983, in McComb, the son of David and Marisa Myer Hughey. He was a cabinet maker.

Daniel grew up loving the outdoors in Amite County and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad, grandfather and brother. He always wanted to help others and had the biggest heart this side of Texas.

He will be missed by many but never forgotten.

Daniel was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert B. Myer; one aunt, Elizabeth J. Myer; great grandparents and great uncles and aunts.

Survivors include his daughter, Kinzie Hughey; his parents; one brother, Mathew Hughey; one sister, Katelyn Hughey; paternal grandparents, Bobby and Shirley Hughey; maternal grandmother, Jerri Myer Pierce; maternal step-grandfather, Sam Pierce; one aunt, Lisa Willard; one uncle, Meigs Myers; two cousins, Lacey and Landon Willard; many great uncles, great aunts, cousins and special friends.
