VIDALIA — Services for Jeffrey Banks Jr., 70, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Union Baptist Church in Vidalia, with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Banks was born Oct. 25, 1939, in Vidalia, the son of Jeffrey and Patsy Cubie Banks. He was retired from the U.S. Army.

He served in the Army for more than 22 years including two tours of duty in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Profit Banks; four sons, Louis Banks and wife Ruthie of Vidalia, Jeffrey Banks III and wife Brianna of San Antonio, Gregory Banks and wife Heide of Italy and Lionel Washington of Florida; three daughters, Debra Butler and husband Sterling of St. Louis, Irma Felton of Vidalia and Shandalyn Young of San Antonio; five brothers, Franklin Banks and wife Betty, Renard Banks and wife Sylvia, all of Natchez, Ernie Banks and wife Jennifer of Ferriday, Jesse Banks and wife Diana of Vicksburg and Danny Lyles of Vidalia; five sisters, Betty Sigust and husband Arthur, Sharon White and husband Rolando, Margie Williams and husband Charlie, Barbara White and Helen Lyles, all of Vidalia; special sister-in-law, Wanda Jo Banks; two special cousins, Margaret Mays and Ruth Singleton, all of Vidalia; 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
