NATCHEZ — Services for Marjorie Merritt, 71, of Natchez, who died Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 3 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Ms. Merritt was born Dec. 27, 1938, in Franklin County, the daughter of Nathaniel Merritt and Martha Jane Arnold Merritt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Kmiel Stroud, Novle Cook, Dona Mae Lee and Mary Jane Stammreich; and two brothers, Finton Merritt and Roy C. Merritt.

Survivors include one sister, Martha Dell Fowler of Denham Springs, La., and a number of nieces and nephews.
