NATCHEZ — Services for Mary Catherine Dunson, 74, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at her residence, will be at noon today at Stanton Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Purvis officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Dunson was born March 19, 1936, in Benton, the daughter of Henry and Myra Johnston.
Mrs. Dunson was a charter member of Stanton Baptist Church. She was employed by Holsum Bakery, Natchez Steam Laundry and was a homemaker for a number of years. She had a heart of gold and would give anyone her last penny. She was loved very much and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sally Dunson; five brothers, William, Milton, Lewis, Herbert and Donnie; one sister, Mildred Ward; and one grandson, Jacob Dunson.
Survivors include her husband, Harper Dunson; six daughters, Gail Atwood and husband, Robert, Betty Atwood and husband, James, Debra Green and husband, John, Cathy Dunson, Marilyn Temple and husband, Brad, and Heather Hitt and husband, Johnathon, all of Natchez; one sister, Lynda Dunn Wright; two brothers, Gene and Audrey Johnston; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
