EVA, La. — Services for W.L. “Dub” Paul, 83, of Monterey, who died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, in Pineville, La., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eva Church of God with the Rev. Kevin Sims, the Rev, Lloyd Trisler and the Rev. Leland Briggs officiating.
Burial will follow at Pala Alto Cemetery in Mayna, La., under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Paul was born May 7, 1927, in Gilbert, La., the son of Willie J. and Drusilla B. Paul. He was a retired surveyor for the Louisiana Highway Department after 30 years of service. He was a member of Eva Church of God.
Mr. Paul was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was also a security guard for the Tensas Cocodrie Pumping Station and a Concordia Parish deputy for 14 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Council on Aging and the Republican Party Committee of Concordia Parish.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Paul; two sons, Jason McClure and wife, Machelle, of Rusk, Texas and Brad McClure of Monterey; one daughter, Sonya Seals of Colfax, La.; one brother, Winson Paul of Monterey; seven grandchildren, Dustin, Sierra, Brandon, Jessica, Wyatt, Ariel and Brandy; two nieces, Joy Trisler and Beth Wug; and one nephew, Dane Paul.
Pallbearers will be Dane Paul, Winnfield Ward, John Pecanty, Lee Dale, Tommy Tiffee and Jack D. Jackson Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Paul, the Rev. Leland Brigs, Faye “Tinker” Renfrow, J.W. Thompson, N.W. Simpson and C.D. Beard.
