Natchez — Taylor Aswell recently joined The Natchez Democrat as a reporter.

A native of Calhoun, La., Aswell is a May 2010 graduate of Louisiana Tech, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and a minor in history.

At Louisiana Tech, Aswell was the editor-in-chief at the student newspaper, the Tech Talk. He also served as associate editor, managing editor, associate sports editor, senior news editor and as the student government reporter.

At The Democrat, he will report on happenings in Concordia Parish including government, education and public safety.
