Natchez — Hundreds of low-income, elderly and disabled customers will soon get free fans and window-unit air conditioners from Entergy Mississippi, Inc.
It’s all part of the annual Beat the Heat program put on by the utility and the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
This year, 350 fans and 35 window-unit air conditioners will be given to qualified low-income, disabled and elderly Mississippians in Entergy Mississippi’s 45-county service area. Local community action agencies will qualify residents and help with distribution.
Natchez-area customers interested in the program should contact the AJFC Community Action Agency at 601-442-8681 to see if they qualify.
