KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Joseph Clayton Jr., 61, of Knoxville, Tenn., died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at his residence.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today at Melrose Church of Christ with the Rev. Michael Hoggatt Sr. officiating.

Mr. Clayton was cremated.

Mr. Clayton was born March 4, 1949, in Natchez, the son of Joseph and Calena Jones Clayton. He lived in New Orleans from 1969 to 2005. After hurricane Katrina, he moved to Knoxville until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Aaron Jones Jr.; and one brother, David Clayton.

Survivors include two children; two brothers, Aaron Jones Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Andrew L. Jones of Natchez; six sisters, Clara M. Williams and her husband, Charles, of Baton Rouge, Roberta Clayton, Lois A. Williams, both of Fort Wayne, Dorothy C. King, Clara M. Owens and Geraldine Minor, all of Natchez; his caregiver, Pamela Cook of Knoxville; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
