Robert Clements

PELHAM, Ala. — Memorial services for Robert Eugene “Bob” Clements, 65, of Hoover, Ala., who died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, were Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Reid Crotty officiating.

Mr. Clements was born in Joplin, Mo., the son of Eugene Robert Clements and Doris Lorraine Van Valkenburg Clements. He was an electrical engineering graduate of Mississippi State University, where he was made a Lamda Chi Alpha. He served as a six-year member of the Mississippi National Guard and later earned the MBA from the University of Alabama, Birmingham.

During his career, he was employed by Alabama Power Company, Rust Engineering and Raytheon. He was a past active member of Birmingham’s Boy Scout Troop 21.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Clements; one son, Matt Clements and wife, Marina, of California; one daughter, Katie Clements of New York; two sisters, Pat Voss and husband, Fred, of Natchez and Judy Clements of Baton Rouge; and one brother, Bill Clements and wife, Trudy, of Birmingham.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, NP 2500, 1530 Third Ave., South, Birmingham, AL 35294-3300 or give in Robert E. Clements’ memory to a charity of choice.
