Luester Mackey

LORMAN – Services for Luester Charity Mackey, 72, of Lorman, who died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at River Region, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Waterloo Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Thompson and the Rev. George Willis Tyler officiating.
Burial will follow at Laurel Hill in Rodney, under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Fayette.
Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Ms. Mackey was born July 8, 1938, in Lorman, the daughter of James A. Henry and Maggie Scott.
She was a retired educator and a member of Zion Chapel, Heriones of Jericho, Jefferson County Retired Teachers Association and Missionary Society AME Church.
Ms. Mackey was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Tony G. Mackey.
Survivors include 12 children, Robert Mackey, Rene Mackey, Gevionni Mackey, Comolita Bailey and Josephine Johnson, all of Lorman, James D. Mackey and Jane Mackey, both of Dallas, Michael Mackey of Las Vegas, Connie Shelvy of Vicksburg, Treveonne D. Mackey of Fayette, Sarah Johnson and Clara Henry, both of St. Louis; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Honorary pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.
