NATCHEZ — Services for lifelong educator Tessie G. Dinelli Brown, 81, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. today at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Stanton officiating.

Burial will follow at Carver Cemetery in Brookhaven under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Brown was born Sept. 2, 1929, in Brookhaven, the daughter of Alice Arnold and Isaac Gearing. She was a member of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church and served as a member of the choir.

Mrs. Brown received her bachelor of science degree from Jackson State University. She retired with more than 50-years of service, having taught at Sadie V. Thompson and North Natchez High Schools.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include one sister, Aline McCarty of Lansing, Mich.; six nieces, Virginia D. Earl and husband, Jerry, and Samanthia Smith, all of Brookhaven, Shelia R. Truvillion of Lansing, Jennifer D. Watson and husband, Samuel, of The Woodlands, Texas, and Kathy M. Sheriff and husband, Daniel III, and Stephanie Truvillion, all of Jackson; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
