One car wreck sends two to hospital

Ferriday — Two people were sent to the hospital early Sunday morning after a one-car wreck occurred on U.S. 84 near Louisiana 129 going toward Jonesville.

According to reports from the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office, at around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday Sept. 12, the vehicle left the road and hit a tree.

The two people in the vehicle had to be cut out when officers arrived.

According to reports from the Louisiana State Police, the vehicle, a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix, was towed after the driver and passenger were removed.

The driver, Michael T. Scott, 32, of Jonesville, received moderate injuries and was transported to Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday by ambulance.

Scott was issued citations for no driver’s license and careless operation.

The passenger in the vehicle, Derrick Scott, 27, of Jonesville, also received moderate injuries and was transferred to Riverland Medical Center Sunday by ambulance.

Both men were taken to the emergency room, and released after they were treated for their injuries.

Alcohol was not a factor involved in the crash, and there is currently no known cause for why the accident occurred.
