Natchez residents gather in Chicago

Let’s spread the word to Natchez natives who have never attended a meeting of the Chicago Natchez Connections breakfast club as well as to your friends who have a Natchez connection — you.

We, the Chicago group, have created a truly wonderful environment where we get together four times a year and tell factual and sometime funny stories about growing up in Natchez.

Our challenge for this year is to make this event even more fun and memorable. We would like to increase our attendance to 110 paid participants and we can make this happen.

If each of us invites one or two family members or friends it will happen.

Our recent breakfast was a success. Despite the very hard rain during the time of our breakfast we had 85 people with Natchez connections attend.

We had a guest speaker, Dr. Barney Davis, who spoke to the group about the importance of managing stress and provided some tips.

We also had a “display your talent” segment where a young man and a seasoned man recited their wonderful and inspiring poetry.

Our guests come in from all over the country for these breakfast meetings. We have a great time remembering Natchez the small town worth knowing.

We meet at the Ramada Hotel at 50th and South Lake Shore Drive four times a year.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
