NATCHEZ — Services for Geneva Buckles Bacon, 94, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at King Solomon Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Taylor Chapel Baptist Church under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. Bacon was born May 20, 1916, in Jefferson County, the daughter of John Henry and Willie Estelle Buckles. She was a 1937 graduate of Brumfield High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David F. Bacon Jr.; her parents; and two sisters, Ella Mae Hill Thornton and Carle Taylor Woods.
Survivors include five children, David F. Bacon III and wife, Amelia, Henry A. Bacon, Murray E. Bacon and wife, Pearl, Dr. Barbara Bacon Epps and husband, Dr. Willie Epps, and Paul Lee Bacon and wife, Lee Edna; five siblings, Marie B. Delay of Houston, Texas, John H. Buckles Jr. and wife, Irene, of Natchez, Annie Louise Woods, Louis Buckles and wife, Juanita, and Lucille Norwood and husband, Sam, of Las Vegas; one sister-in-law, Mildred Bacon Johnson of Natchez; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
