VIDALIA — Services for Lawrence Morris Neal Ray, 79, of Vidalia, who died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at Natchez Community Hospital will be at 2 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Ray was born on Jan. 26, 1931, in Natchez, the son of Fred Lee Ray and Georgia May Ray.

He was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

He was a resident of Vidalia for 34 years and had 45 years of service with the Union Pacific and Missouri Pacific railroads.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Christine James Ray; and sister, Carrie Lachney.

Survivors include his wife Audrey S. Ray; son Freddie Ray and wife Darlene of Fenwick; six daughters Pat Tullos and husband Jimmy of Mer Rouge, La., Georgie Wood and husband Billy of Jonesboro, Ark., Peggy Baker and husband Billy of Natchez, Nelda Smith and husband Billy of Leachville, Ark.; Mary Whitlock and husband Todd of Monette, Ark. and Ruby Manchester and husband Von of Vidalia; stepson Chip Faulkner and wife Yvonne of Belle Chasse, La.; stepdaughter Kathy White and husband Bill of Serento, La.; 29 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and sister Nettie Trahan of Kenner, La.

Pallbearers will be Lawrence Daniel Baker, Todd Whitlock, Billy C. Wood, Johnathan Riddle, Lee Ray and Von Manchester.
