VIDALIA — Gov. Bobby Jindal will be at the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center at noon on Thursday for a governor’s luncheon.
The lunch will start at 11:30 a.m., and Concordia Parish Sheriff Randy Maxwell will introduce the governor, who will be giving an update on the state of Louisiana.
Local businesses are sponsoring the event, which is open and free to the public, but reservations need to be in by today at noon for those attending.
Vidalia Chamber of Commerce Director Jamie Burley said area residents need to come out and hear Jindal speak.
“I think that if the people of the community really care about our state and our economic situation, that it is very important to come and listen to what the governor has to say,” she said.
Burley said the chamber is expecting approximately 125 people, but can accommodate more if needed. Reservations for the governor’s luncheon can be attained by calling 318-336-8223 or by e-mail at chamber@vidaliala.com.
